Our first Kapa Haka session this year was on Tuesday the 22 of February from 12:15 - 1pm... However, at 12:50 we were rudely interrupted by the 6.3 earthquake! With 150 students in the hall for first day sign ups it could have easily become a scene of chaos. But, because of our well-drilled "quake safe students" and the help of some responsible seniors comforting the scared juniors, it was nothing more than another one of our usual earthquake drills.
A massive ka pai to all students in Kapa Haka for the way they handled themselves during that time and a huge thank you to the yr 7/8's that did such a great job and made the evacuation a lot easier for me!
Whakamihi, thank you
Matua John :-)
